The MBS Direct warehouse is 310,000 square feet and is fully operational 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Direct-to-Student Delivery Model

No other company in the nation can come close to the technology we use to manage and ship textbooks. Specifically designed to handle orders for individuals, our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) is the same technology that one would find in some of the world ’s largest corporations. Consisting of high-density racks with hundreds of bins of books, robotic arms retrieve the bins and place them on conveyor belts that take those books to the people filling the orders. Run by exclusive warehouse management software, the MBS Direct warehouse has removed virtually all errors from the textbook fulfillment process and ensures accuracy for every single order.

In addition to the ASRS, MBS Direct also utilizes the latest in sorting equipment. Our innovative Automated Book Sorter takes 3-D pictures of each book to determine its size, shape, and weight; it then sorts each book by its unique ISBN into specific orders. This technology gives MBS Direct the capability to sort more than 20,000 books an hour and fill thousands of orders a day.

Automated Ordering Solutions

If one of our partner institutions prefers to bundle books with tuition and fees, MBS Direct offers an auto-ordering solution. Our institutions simply submit their students' courses and shipment information, and we fill and ship each order directly to the student or in bundles to the institution with each order labeled by student.
